My Mind (Plays Tricks On Me) My mind plays tricks on me. My mind plays tricks on me. If I ever had a clue I’d know just what to do. I’m just looking for an explanation please. My mind is a wide eyed dream. My mind played tricks on me. I could make my own success if I would just clean up this mess. I’m desperately wanting to believe, that my time has come, and I’m the only one to right these wrongs, and I pray, hey, pray it won’t be long I’m running out of faith, and I feel I’ll be erased I’m just looking for an explanation please. If our time has come, we’re the only ones to right these wrongs, and I pray, hey, pray it won’t be long. My mind plays tricks on me (my mind plays tricks on me) My mind plays tricks on me (my mind plays tricks on me) My mind plays tricks on me

Heart Inside Your Head How much more bad news can you take? Could you orchestrate your own fate? Pawns and there’s a king and nothing in between. Are you looking for a savior for disorderly behavior? Have you called in every favor, are you coming clean? If a call went out, would you stand up and shout? Would say that there’s no doubt? You can always make your bed, make up your own mind instead. There’s a heart inside your head. Give it one more try with feeling while you’re staring at the ceiling. All your senses have been reeling working overtime. Not like you need convincing but there’s so much you’ve been missing. Hit the replay, can you listen for the story line? If a call went out, would you stand up and shout? Would you say that there’s no doubt? You can always make your bed, make up your own mind instead. There’s a heart inside your head.

Slave to It 03:09
Slave to It I’m just a slave to it I know it, I can’t drag myself away I’ve just been feigning independence and there’s nothing I can say or do about it. I wrap my arms around it. I got it. I owned my indecision, took me years ‘til I could be committed. Everything was changing, couldn’t hold on for more than a minute. Holding tight with all my might right now. What was I waiting for? You were what I was waiting for. The cold and clamor vanished with the clouds. You called my bluff, like nothing was good enough. And nothing could erase all of the doubt, ‘til you called me out. I’m just a slave to it you know it, I don’t ever want to change a thing. I faced the music fading and I heard the silence and the ringing. I turn it up can’t turn it down. What was I waiting for? You were what I was waiting for. The cold and clamor vanished with the clouds. You called my bluff, like nothing was good enough, and nothing could erase all of the doubt, til you called me out, ‘til you called me out. I’m just a slave to it I know it…

I Want Everything You could say we cut it close and I’m always digging up ghosts. That’s what I do, without you. You could always change your mind, it’s not about turning back time, no shame in the truth. I wanna take it back, as far as I can see. There’s time enough to kill, or erase every memory. I wanna get it back, before the crime and every scene. I wanna seal the deal, I want everything. I never claimed to know it all but higher up the further we could fall. Therein lies the mystery, do we take it all or take just what we need? I wanna take it back, as far as I can see. There’s time enough to kill, or erase every memory. Yeah I wanna get it back, before the crime and every scene. I wanna seal the deal, I want everything. I wanna seal the deal, I want everything. I want everything. I want everything. I want everything.

Trying Too Hard Well trying too hard to convince me you’re not trying too hard, but the bones in the yard, tell me you’re not going anywhere but… Down for the count you can say what what you want, you can hide in a dream, however that seems. You ain’t going anywhere. Lock me out or let me in. Tired excuses wearing thin. I’m only playing for to win you over. Let’s start over. Trying too hard to convince me you’re not part of a scene, whatever that means. I’m not going anywhere. Light in the dark we can wait for the spark, that’s bound to appear, though it seems like years. It was always everywhere. Lock me out or let me in. Tired excuses wearing thin. I’m only playing for to win you over. Let’s start over. Let’s go! Lock me out or let me in. Tired excuses wearing thin. I’m only playing for to win you over. Let’s start over, over, let’s start over.

One of the Boyz One of the boys, he treats you like that. Did he forget your silhouette? Those boys, they’ll get their karma. You’ll find they’re not worth the drama. There’s more where he came from. He’s got it wrong. He’s got a lot to learn about girls. When you get strong and you move on there’ll be no looking over your cold shoulder. One of the boys, if that’s all you get to make you feel irrelevant. Those boys, they’ll get what’s coming add up to much less than nothing. There’s more where he came from. He’s got it wrong. He’s got a lot to learn about girls. When you get strong and you move on There’ll be no looking over your cold shoulder. Well there’s more where he came from He’s got it wrong He’s got a lot to learn about girls When you get strong and you move on There’ll be no looking over your cold shoulder Looking over your cold shoulder yeah One of the boys, one of the boys, one of the boys

Hopes Up 03:15
Hopes Up Got my hopes up, expectations high got a feeling, we could try to stop the bleeding, turn the tide got my hopes up. Got my hopes up, and there ain’t no quit. Yeah we made it, through the thick of it. We’re achin’ to get off of this trip. Got my hopes up. I got my finger on the pulse I know. Found our rhythm and we’re ready to go. The toughest times we’ve been through. Seems like there’s nothing that we can’t do. Got my hopes up. Got my hopes up, for this space and this time. Surrounded and wait for the sign, we found it, the words and the rhyme got my hopes up. Got my hopes up, we’ve been waiting for this. Started feeling, like we were last on the list. Now we’re sealing our fate with a kiss. Got my hopes up.

Nothing New 03:12
Nothing New You’ve got a right thinking, I did you wrong. Can’t figure out what took you so long. If I paved the way to ruin, if I pulled the rug, from underneath us well that’s just my luck. If you wanna break my heart, if you wanna spin the truth. If you wanna get me back for everything I did to you. Or if you just wanna say, “it’s all the same what’s the use”. If you wanna break my heart that’s nothing new. You killed the competition, didn’t have to try. I killed the conversation in a blink of an eye. If I was thinking well I wasn’t even close, to getting you back while you were letting me go. If you wanna break my heart, if you wanna spin the truth. If you wanna get me back for everything I did to you. Or if you just wanna say, “it’s all the same what’s the use”. If you wanna break my heart that’s nothing new. The ticking time is just ticking slow. All this time, and we never know.

Keys to Your Heart Don’t put words in my mouth, you’re calling me out for things in my head, better left unsaid. I shoulder the blame as I try to reclaim but I tear it apart while I search for the keys to your heart. I know I left them somewhere. I’d keep it inside but these thoughts they collide ‘til I spit it right out, no shadow no doubt. It’s always the same and I try to explain I’m not playing a part while I search for the keys to your heart. I know I left them somewhere. Yes I left them somewhere. Yeah I left them somewhere. Yes I left them somewhere. Yes I left them somewhere.

Gloves Come Off Maybe we’ve forgotten, or our minds just slipped. Never said it all was rotten, I never meant that we should quit. This is the part where the gloves come off. This is the time to get serious. This is the light trying to break through. This is how it feels when the drugs subside. On its last breath but it’s still alive. If this is a love that’s dying it takes two. How ‘bout you? Let’s set this scene in motion. Don’t sweat the small stuff we can’t fix. I don’t believe our vows are broken. Yeah it all comes down to this. This is the part where the gloves come off. This is the time to get serious. This is the light trying to break through. This is how it feels when the drugs subside. On its last breath but it’s still alive. If this is a love that’s dying it takes two How ‘bout you? How ‘bout you? How ‘bout you? How ‘bout you?

about

10 new songs from Nick and the Boyz. At times both more rocking and more reflective than what you may have come to expect. But still full of great riffs, melodies, and lyrics deeper than what the catchiness of the songs would suggest.
